Singapore is one of the world’s very few city-states, and it lies in Southeast Asia. Its area is roughly 276 square miles. Singapore’s territory features both mainland and other islands. The mainland’s measurements are ca. 17 miles from north to south and 31 miles from east to west, with 120 miles of coastline. The Straits of Johor separate the state from Malaysia while the Singapore Strait separates it from Indonesia.

Brunei lies in Southeastern Asia where it borders East Malaysia and the South China Sea. Its area of 2,226 square miles makes it Asia’s 4th smallest nation. Brunei is recognized as the only sovereign state located entirely on Borneo island. The rest of Borneo’s territory is shared between Indonesia and Malaysia. The politics of Brunei is an absolute monarchy, whereby the very rich Sultan of Brunei is both head of state and head of government. It is good to be a sultan.

Qatar

Qatar is officially the State of Qatar and is a country located in Western Asia, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Its sole land border is with neighboring  Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Persian Gulf. The Gulf of Bahrain, an inlet of the Persian Gulf, separates Qatar from nearby Bahrain.
