Utah. Skiing 7,000 km away, if you come from Europe? Are you kidding me? No. lots of skiers from other countries simply can´t resist the challenge.
It’s a long trip, it’s not cheap, but it’s powder snow at its best. There is a technical explanation for why the USA and Canada have some of the best snow in the world. The snow can simply hold on to a steeper mountain slope than in Europe, due to the climate of the best ski resorts, so if you are an experienced skier, come have some serious fun, off-piste. It is for the truly dedicated skier worth traveling for. And there are a couple of the world’s best ski slopes too, including Glen´s, which we’ll get to in a moment.

Mountains from Snowbird ski resort in Utah

The Bird is back Nov 2020!

“We are ready and confident in a safe return to skiing and riding. We prioritize the well-being of our staff, guests and community. You are a part of making this season a success and we appreciate your cooperation.

It’s a whole new season and your experience on the mountain is going to be different but what remains the same is the deep snow and legendary terrain you have come to expect from Snowbird. We’re so excited to welcome winter and continue doing what we love in the outdoors.

Snowbird will open for the 2020-21 winter season on November 30, weather and conditions permitting. By giving our Mountain Operations team a few additional days, we hope to be able to increase the number of lifts, ensure more terrain and have a great experience from day 1 of the season.”

COVID19 measurements and credit incentives in place

Here is how Snowbird tackles a difficult situation:

“In order to manage volume and facilitate appropriate physical distancing.

  • Our early-season snowmaking and terrain plan is different than recent years. We will focus on getting multiple lifts open and spreading out guests across the resort.
  • We will limit the number of guests at the resort by adjusting our daily lift ticket sales and pausing other sales channels for lift tickets.
  • We are also implementing an online parking reservation system for all guests. This means that whether you’re a season passholder or day ticket guest, you will need to let us know you’re coming. We will share more details on how this will be implemented in the coming weeks. “

Qualifying skipass holders will receive a future use credit if Snowbird is closed because of COVID-19 for 30 days or more, or if there is a 7 or more consecutive day COVID-19-related closure between December 11, 2020 and May 9, 2021.”
