Philippines, now no. 100 of so-called safe travel destinations. What does it mean?

The Philippines joins an attractive list of 100 “safe travel destinations”

Safe Travel in Southeast Asia and the tropics, in general, is high on the list, because if you find an ATTRACTIVE island with few and tested inhabitants and every visitor on the way in is also tested, you are safer than so many other places, and it will be a safe holiday. The Philippines just Sept. 20, 2020, landed an important place,  that should create some more security for travel to the country seen in the light of COVID 19.

Stay tuned, cause the Covid 19 situations changes all the time.

The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has announced that in just three short months, 100 destinations are now using its ‘Safe Travels’ stamp, with the Philippines becoming the official 100th destination.

The WTTC, which represents the private sector in travel and tourism, made history earlier this year when the organization launched the world’s first worldwide global safety and hygiene stamp, and today the Safe Travels stamp reached its first major milestone. The brand, which was developed to help restore confidence in travelers and work to revive an ailing travel sector, is now also used by many more major holiday destinations such as the Maldives, Bermuda, Namibia, Uganda and Montenegro.

The specially designed stamp enables travelers to recognize destinations around the world that have adopted globally standardized protocols in the field of health and hygiene – so they can experience ‘Safe Travels’. This milestone movement from the WTTC also received support from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
